Here are top Windows utility-software that I use:

HARDWARE

I generally order computing parts from Frys Electornics, NewEgg, or Amazon.   I use Intel/Nvidia components, but have no real preference on motherboard.  SuperIO has made great mainboards, along with Gigabyte or MSI, but I've been disappointed in some ABIT and ASUS boards.  I have built both liquid cooled and Silent HTPCs, lapped CPUs and chipsets, and configured extreme overclocking (I was one of the first to hit over 4GHz back in Pentium D days).

I use a M.2 or SSD as the boot drive (C:).  I've gone to the convention of assigning F: as the application drive (i.e. any post-OS software is installed to F:\Program Files).  This keeps space free on C: for only the most critical applications.   Profiles should also be re-assigned to F: but that process is never very straightforward across Windows versions.

The PHOTOS repository is backed up nightly by a mirror to another local drive.   Then weekly, the PHOTOS repository is backed up to a remote drive.  This allows a grace period in case anything goes wrong with the nightly mirror process.  Both these backups are managed by SyncBack Pro.
